StatementRetraction of Controversial Tweet, Affirmation of Rule of Law

October 21, 2022

I, Luis Miguel, publicly and unequivocally retract and disavow the tweet published on my social media accounts August 18, 2022 which read, “Under my plan, all Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF and all other feds on sight! Let freedom ring!”

The tweet was poorly worded and does not in the slightest express my actual views regarding the rule of law or federal encroachment. I do not in the least condone violence against any individual. Thus, I do not in the least defend that tweet. Further, I distance myself from it completely. As a supporter of the right-to-life, I believe the law should defend that right for everyone–including federal agents.

My true position on the matter is that state policymakers should work hand-in-hand with constitutionalist federal lawmakers to put an end to the abuse of federal agencies for the purpose of political targeting and intimidation.

But I do not advocate or call for violence against any individual or organization. Thus, I disavow the tweet totally and publicly apologize for the irresponsible, poor wording which misconstrued my true views on the issue of federal power. I am a believer in law and order and would never encourage anyone to act outside the purview of the law.
